Conwy Council recently used Dash Information Systems to supply and install the Orbit Outdoor touch screen kiosk at Colwyn Bay Crematorium. The aim of the project was to reduce the overheads of opening the Book of Remembrance Room on weekends and bank holidays.
The Orbit Outdoor touch screen kiosk operates with our managed Book of Remembrance software and a support service that monitors the installation 24/7.
Using our book scanning service we scanned all of the Book of Remembrance volumes with a two week turnaround, the resulting images were then loaded into our Book of Remembrance viewing software where users can search the Books by month and date. The Book of Remembrance service can also be viewed by family and friends around the world.
Cllr Mike Priestley, Cabinet Member for Highways, Environment & Sustainability said, “These days families and friends can be spread around the world and a trip to the crematorium is simply not an option. This exciting, innovative project will make these records more accessible, giving more people the opportunity to benefit and appreciate these memorials.”
Dash Information Systems provided a comprehensive all inclusive service which fitted Conwy Council requirements exactly.
